Where a unique opportunity in castle accommodation  awaits you...

        Accommodation

The apartments created on the bedroom floor at Kinnaird enjoy unparalleled views over formal gardens and a mature Deer Park.  Gaze out of the windows at any time of the day to witness herds of fallow and red deer grazing, red squirrels racing between trees and spectacular bird-life soaring above.    Inside, this impressive building is cosy and comfortable despite its size.  Those who have stayed here in the castle have also commented on the warmth of welcome offered by all those who work on the estate.

The Macduff Tower is for the discerning client who requires the additional space and luxury while those who choose the Barony Apartment will not be disappointed with the character and comfort of this wing.

For either we can offer a fully catered service for any clients if this is booked in advance.  Guests can enjoy a full, cooked breakfast and we will have all rooms cleaned and serviced daily.  In addition, a three-course dinner will be provided excluding wines.  Sample menus can be requested and we would be delighted to discuss any particular desires or dislikes in advance.  There is an abundance of seasonal, local produce featured in our catering.

"If you are celebrating a special occasion or have a particular request we would be happy to discuss plans to help."

So far as entertainment is concerned, there are golf courses suitable for every level of golfer. Carnoustie, the Open venue, is 25 minutes away and other picturesque courses include Edzell, Montrose, Strathmore and Letham Grange (all within 20 minutes).  Even St Andrews is under one hour away.  For those who enjoy walking, the glens of Angus offer some of the prettiest scenery in Scotland, gentle bracken covered hills with birch copses stretching up to the Highlands.  Best of all is that they are not overcrowded with tourists.  If more dramatic scenery is sought, Royal Deeside is just 45 minutes drive over the Cairn O’ Mount and the ski resorts are easily accessible.  (Glenshee is just over one hour away.)

Angus is one of the least known (and therefore unspoiled) areas of Scotland.  Kinnaird is only 5  minutes from the underused coastline with miles and miles of sandy beaches and dunes.  Birdwatchers with be impressed by the variety of species at all times of the year.  The Montrose Basin - just 2 miles away - is home to a diverse and changing wildlife through all seasons.

There are several stately homes open to the public nearby including Glamis Castle, the House of Dun, Edzell Castle, Brechin Castle and Dunninald.  There is a tennis court at the castle and this is available on request.  There is also a variety of fishing options both on the estate and on nearby rivers and lochs.
